Many adults compete as individuals, meaning that you aren't ordering a long-sleeve leotard from your entire team. If you train at a gymnastics club with a team, it's worth asking if they can order a competition leotard for you (or ask if they have an extra one lying around that you could purchase, perhaps a used one from a gymnast who retired or outgrew her leotard). The reason is, often teams will get bulk order discounts.
However, it's common for the club leotard to be reserved exclusively for members of the club Xcel or DP team - and if you are not a member of that team, you may not be able to get a leotard that way. In addition, usually the orders are placed only once per year (typically in late fall for teen and adult sizes) in which case you might have missed that cutoff.
Either way, you will be able to purchase affordable long sleeve competition leotards right here! In addition, know that you aren't required to wear a long sleeved leotard to compete.
